This Week’s #WCW Honor Goes To The English Duchess of Soul and Jazz, Miss Amy Winehouse

Upon the recent release of Amy and its Original Soundtrack today (thank you, Spotify!), this exceptional artist deserves this honor.  Miss Amy Winehouse was a true artist, fashioning relationship drama into musical gold and platinum with albums such as Frank (“F Me Pumps” is an under-appreciated hit) and Back to Black.

In honor of her beautifully talented and special daughter, the Winehouse family established the Amy Winehouse Foundation in September 14, 2011 which “works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people. We also aim to support, inform and inspire vulnerable and disadvantaged young people to help them reach their full potential.”

With such soul-stirring and insightful songwriting combined with her signature vocal styling, songs like “Stronger Than Me,” “Rehab,” “Valerie,” “Body and Soul” and “Back to Black” have become an emotional roadmap to not only her life but every listener (me especially).
